Who goes to Heaven?

Most people looked like they had lots of thoughts as to why they didn’t like Christianity. However, they were reluctant to write them down!

Some said they didn’t like the authority and control. Others that they didn’t like any religion.

Nobody addressed the issue of “what is true?”

It was my question, and I am open to other’s thoughts and criticisms. However, I don’t get it as to why they would reject the evidence of Jesus’ life, miracles, substitutionary death for us and then the evidence of his coming back to life again.

Normally, we all love getting something for free. Forgiveness from God offered for free pretty much summarises the good news of Jesus. But most people don’t see that as valuable.

I love the Bible, Jesus and the forgiveness of God! I am sorry that most others in the market don’t want that.

Who goes to Heaven?

Challenge yourself…

“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

Romans 1:18 (NIV)(www.laridian.com)

The bottom line claim from that passage in the Bible is that “people are without excuse”.

That was the question. What do you think?

That is God’s claim, coming from Paul.

God says that “what has been made”, that is the world around us as we see and feel it, is the evidence for his claim that he exists. And not only do we need to acknowledge that he exists, but also, that we will be held accountable to him.

I heartily and happily accept that, since I see his hand all around in the world, nature and the sky above. But, most don’t…

What are your reasons for not accepting his claims?

Would Jesus be ‘woke’? https://lifehope.blog/would-jesus-be-woke/ https://lifehope.blog/would-jesus-be-woke/#respond Sun, 24 Apr 2022 11:43:05 +0000 https://lifehope.blog/?p=1211 The post Would Jesus be ‘woke’? appeared first on Life Hope.

Depends on what YOU mean by woke…

It really did on the day!

Those who thought that being woke was simply to be someone who rose up against racism and abuses of power in society usually voted “Yes!”. Jesus was certainly against racism, saying that he had come for all people, just as he sent his followers to spread the good news of his life, death and resurrection to all people, to the ends of the earth.

He also opposed the ruling religious class for their spiritual hypocrisy and the way they were unaccepting of other racial groups.

Those who voted “No!” had some idea that Jesus believed, for example, in the creation of the world by God, marriage being between a man and a woman, and immorality being wrong. They felt that the current meaning of “woke” as being progressive would not tolerate such an attitude.

These days, what can’t we talk about? https://lifehope.blog/these-days-what-cant-we-talk-about/ https://lifehope.blog/these-days-what-cant-we-talk-about/#respond Sun, 13 Mar 2022 12:02:05 +0000 https://lifehope.blog/?p=1173 The post These days, what can’t we talk about? appeared first on Life Hope.

Freedom of public discussion?

Some said on the day that we can talk about everything! What’s the problem?

Others said we can’t, and that there are many things we can’t talk about.

I decided that the former must be people who agree with the mainstream media woke views, and so for them there really isn’t a problem. The latter don’t, and so they do have a problem!

What we say or don’t say has consequences. Nevertheless, public discussion of important issues is necessary for seeking wise ways ahead for issues in society.

Even beyond this are the words of Jesus regarding all of what we say…

But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.

Matthew 12:36 (NIV) (http://www.laridian.com)

What is the most major wrong in the world? https://lifehope.blog/what-is-the-most-major-wrong-in-the-world/ https://lifehope.blog/what-is-the-most-major-wrong-in-the-world/#respond Tue, 28 Sep 2021 03:51:14 +0000 https://lifehope.blog/?p=383 The post What is the most major wrong in the world? appeared first on Life Hope.

There are many contenders for this ignominious category!

Things like Marxism, Climate change, trafficking, Covid, alarmism. The list could go on.

Something even more wrong than trafficking

I am thinking about something even more foundationally wrong than trafficking.

It would be reasonable to say that none of us are ‘angels’, wouldn’t it? In other words, a bit like asking a bunch of friends together, “have you ever told a lie?” The answers would range from “everone does”, to “no-one’s perfect”.

We get the idea that we all do and have done wrong. To expand that, we could say we have all rebelled against God, and some way or other, have hurt other people. It would be a brave, if not deluded person, who would claim they are different to the rest of us in this.

That would be my choice

We need to have a deep think, turn around and turn to God.

Jesus put it like this:

For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.

Matthew 15:19 (NIV) (http://www.laridian.com)

What is your opinion?
