“The Origin of Species…”

With the mention of nature and the universe, most people would think of Evolution and the Big Bang Theory.

Not surprising, since we have had those 2 hypotheses ‘rammed down our throats’ since primary school. They are very stong belief systems in our society!

However, neither should encourage order and rationality by their nature. If true, both should be intrinsically random and chaotic.

Darwin’s book in the title promises  revelation as to the origin of life. However, the book mostly speaks of Natural Selection, something which almost no-one would disagree about. As for origin of life, there still is no evidence of a living organism, no matter how simple, ever being produced from non-life, even up to this day.

For me, the only feasible explanation is that God created nature and the universe with order and rationality, just as he himself is.

God also, in the process, created Science. Nowadays it is as if we have taken over Science as if it is our own creation, giving no credit to God.

What do you think?

Climate Change – has God lost control? https://lifehope.blog/climate-change-has-god-lost-control/ https://lifehope.blog/climate-change-has-god-lost-control/#respond Sun, 07 Nov 2021 06:46:59 +0000 https://lifehope.blog/?p=1018 The post Climate Change – has God lost control? appeared first on Life Hope.

We should ask this…

Where do you stand with the big issue of Climate Change?

We all have an opinion about this! As well, we would all base our individual strong opinion on what we would claim to be strong scientific evidence and reasoning. To be really honest, we should say there is some belief in it too.

However, when that discussion has cooled down, shouldn’t we also be wondering, “What does God think about what we humans refer to as ‘Climate Change’?”

One problem immediately comes up, as seen in the market yesterday. You can see the results of the opinions. Many voters didn’t even believe in a God. They, therefore, can opt out of answering the question.

Some there thought that it wasn’t even God’s fault, but all a result of the big corporations of the world making massive mischief with the climate for the sake of their profits.

Others seem to be disappointed with God in letting Climate Change happen.

Many consider the solution to be within our human capability.

This is reflected in the words of a world leader recently when he claimed it was “one minute to midnight” for humanity. Some other leaders declared it was our “last and best chance” to save humanity. I realise that most of the world leaders, elite and media moguls would not consider God to exist at all, let alone having anything to do with this.

Should we think of God coming into any of this at all? If the God of the Bible exists, does he think there is an issue, diagnosis first, and second, what the treatment would be, if needed?

What if God has got the climate under control?

God made a promise after the universal Flood back about 4,400 years ago. He was fed up with the acts of violence and rebellion by the people he had created. After that catastrophic event, he declared:

“Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.
[22] “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat,
summer and winter, day and night will never cease.”

Genesis 8:21 (NIV) (http://www.laridian.com)

God sustains all things. As his created humans, we have been given the responsibility of looking after them to the best of our ability. This includes nature, the environment, as well as each other.

We are also told that the earth “will wear out”…

Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath;

the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies.

But my salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail.

Isaiah 51:6 (NIV) (http://www.laridian.com)

That will be the time when the God of the universe creates a new earth where he will dwell with those who love him, accept him, and are happy to obey him…

But in keeping with his promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.
2 Peter 3:13 (NIV) (http://www.laridian.com)

What are your thoughts about all of this?

Sighting of Dinosaurs

Secular evolution has it that dinosaurs died off 65 million years ago, and that no human has ever seen a living dinosaur. However, if you replace the word dinosaur with dragon, then it becomes a different matter.

It was in 1841 that dragons were renamed dinosaurs, and the search for their bones was begun in earnest. Now literally billions of their bones in almost all countries of the world have been found.

St George and the dragon

As for sightings, there has been much evidence of that through history. St George and the dragon would be the best known. Great Britain has the St George cross on its flag, even though George was from Turkey. Apparently he was an officer in the Roman army for one of the Caesars, and had converted from Paganism to Christianity.

A book that helped me understand dragons more is displayed. It has many pictures of drawings and etchings of dragons in many countries of the world from over the past centuries. There is no way that people could have just drawn them out of their imagination, or even from seeing scattered bones on the ground. The only reasonable conclusion is that people saw them directly, probably at a distance, and then drew them.

Dinos on Noah’s ark?

There only needed to be a male and a female from each ‘kind’ after all. The largest would have fitted in, not as fully-grown adults, but as young dinosaurs, later to mature and mate. Then, over time, natural selection would have diversified them into many more varieties, just as with dogs, cats, livestock etc.

Naval architects calculate that the capacity of the ark was enormous, at about 15,000 tonnes, so lots of room for fodder and the various animal ‘kinds’ as described in the Bible. That will be another Post…

Blood cells still present in a T Rex bone?

One of my most fascinating reads some years ago was from the prestigious ‘Science’ journal in 2005. Dr Mary Schweitzer, a palaeontologist from the US, presented pictorial proof of what she was astounded to find when she cut open a T Rex femur bone many times – soft tissue in which there were blood cells, blood vessels and soft elastic tissue. That is incredible! Realistically, the T Rex could only have died some few thousand years ago, and definitely not 65 million!

Bible’s mention of a couple of dinosaur-like creatures.

One of these is in Job 40:15 and is  called ‘behemoth’ (‘beast of beasts’) and the description could easily fit a sauropod herbivorous dinosaur. Its tail ‘sways like a cedar’, and its ‘bones are tubes of bronze’.

People like me who believe in Intelligent Design and the universal flood in the days of Noah are convinced that dinosaur graveyards are the result of that catastrophic flood not so many thousands of years ago. That’s why dino fossils have been found alongside ordinary objects like turtle shells, willow leaves, figs, crocodile bones and redwood cones etc.

Origins of life

If we don’t know where we’ve come from, won’t it be much harder to know where we are going?

We’ve all been wising up to Evolution, and with it the ‘Big Bang’, since our early school years, right through till now.

However, have you ever stopped to think about whether this ‘hypothesis’ is correct?

Just a few questions…

Did everything really come from nothing? Did life really come from non-life? Did order really come from chaos?
Really? Take any other scientific experiment, and you will find that each one of those claims is non-scientific, non-observable, and non-reproducible at any laboratory level. When applied to the origins of life, they are a claim to a miracle or at least big-time magic.

I think we would all agree that, according to the natural world now:

Something never comes from nothing; life never comes from non-life; order never comes from disorder; information never comes from inanimate matter.

Natural selection

As amazing and powerful as it is, natural selection is not the whole of Evolution, even if it seems to be promoted that way. It follows on from the origins of life, and does not act until there is life for it to be acting on. It actually is more of a culling force, rather than a creative force. That’s why it is called ‘Microevolution’, and is very much a real and ongoing part of all life that is already living.

The cart is usually put before the horse

Macroevolution should come first, the claimed actual origins of life. After that, should come Microevolution, the true action of natural selection on the origins of life onwards to today.

Another key word in the discussion is mutation. This also is used incorrectly, as if it is a creating force, just like natural selection. However, it should be kept in mind that almost all mutations are negative, in that they cause a loss of genetic information, rather than a gain.

Charles Darwin

In his book, Charles concentrated on the origin of the diversity of life, the “by means of natural selection” part of his book’s title. This is Microevolution, and so is quite misleading, since the book and the great discovery, celebrated and still being spread triumphantly up to today, is supposed to be the “origins of” life.

He was pointedly avoiding the question of the origins of life itself. There are many who think that even now, regarding this, nothing has changed…

Oceanic primordial soup

That’s where the first living organism was supposed to have arisen from. After that, with so much time, and so much good luck, here we are today! A leap of faith is needed!

I suggest a much more believable and scientifically acceptable means of explaining the origins of life is that of Intelligent Design. This involves the God of the Bible, the description in Genesis of that incredibly preserved book, and the evidence fitting it far better than any other hypothesis.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

Genesis 1:1 (NIV) (http://www.laridian.com)

Why don’t you check it out? Down the track, I will endeavour to have a Post about it.
